The Principle and Use of Door Contact

1 What is a door contact?

The door contact mainly consists of two parts: a switch and a magnet. The switch part is composed of a magnetic spring switch, which is connected by leads and packaged in a fixed shape. The magnet part is encapsulated in a plastic or alloy shell by a magnet with corresponding magnetic field strength. When the two parts are separated or close to a certain distance, it senses the changes in the position of the object, which will cause the switch to open or close.

Door contacts are widely used in the installation and use of doors and windows in various fields such as banks, shops, telecommunications, electricity, judiciary, residential areas, factories, companies, schools, homes, villas, warehouses, etc.

2 Is the door contact useful?

Door contacts generally need to be used in conjunction with the alarm control panel. When the alarm control panel is in the arming state, when the door contact installed on the door and window is triggered (i.e. when the door and window are opened and the magnet of the door contact is separated), the alarm control panel will send an alarm prompt after receiving the signal. The user can receive the alarm information and immediately take corresponding measures.
