1. AS-211 Overview

The AS-211 combines single-zone address expansion with local output linkage in one compact module.

A remote NO or NC alarm detector connects to the AS-211, which communicates with the AS-9000 alarm control panel over the system bus. The connected detector is assigned an individual zone within the AS-9000 system. When the AS-9000 control panel processes an alarm condition on that zone, the AS-211 can additionally provide a power output for local alarm equipment or a switch signal for linked security equipment.

System architecture

Remote Alarm Detector → AS-211 → AS-9000 Bus → AS-9000 Alarm Control Panel
AS-211 → 12V/1A Output → Siren / Flashing Light
AS-211 → NO/NC Switch Output → Camera / Other Linkage Equipment

This architecture positions the AS-211 as more than a basic address module: it combines detector input, AS-9000 bus addressing, and output/linkage capability within a single device. Outputs are triggered and controlled within the AS-9000 system; the module does not operate as an independent decision-making device.

2. Input, Output & Bus Architecture

2.1 Single-Zone Detector Input

The AS-211 connects one alarm detector per module. Supported input types:

  • Normally Open (NO)
  • Normally Closed (NC)

This allows the module to interface with compatible wired intrusion detectors within the AS-9000 system.

2.2 AS-9000 Bus Communication

The AS-211 communicates with the AS-9000 series alarm control panel through the system bus (Green/Yellow signal lines). A communication indicator provides a simple operating-status reference:

  • Blinking = normal module communication

2.3 12V/1A Power Output

The AS-211 provides a 12V / 1A power output, which can be used to drive compatible alarm equipment such as:

  • Sirens
  • Flashing lights
  • Other compatible 12V alarm equipment

2.4 NO/NC Switch Output

The AS-211 also provides a separate NO/NC switch output for equipment linkage, such as:

  • Camera triggering
  • Video linkage
  • Other compatible security equipment accepting an NO/NC input

3. Addressing & AS-9000 Bus Device Management

3.1 Address Code Setting

The AS-211 uses an address code setting switch for assignment within the AS-9000 system. The module occupies a zone within the following range:

Zone Range: 100–299
Zone Number = Address Code + 100

3.2 Automatic Bus Device Search

After the AS-211 is wired into the system, installers can use the AS-9000 keypad menu:

Device Management → Search Bus Device

The control panel automatically searches the bus for connected expansion modules and establishes communication, then displays the number of devices found. The search should be repeated whenever modules are:

  • Added
  • Removed
  • Replaced

3.3 Duplicate-Code Handling

Each AS-211 module carries its own address code. If more than one module is assigned the same code, the AS-9000 control panel can automatically reassign the duplicated module, beginning from code 399. This mechanism is intended to assist with duplicate-code situations during system expansion or module replacement, rather than functioning as a permanent hardware serial number.

4. Wiring & Connection

Wire PairConnection
Red / BlackPositive / negative power supply
Green / YellowAS-9000 bus signal — positive / negative
Blue / WhiteDetector connection — Normally Closed (NC) / Common (COM)

Output wiring

Wire PairFunction
Red / YellowOutput voltage connection for compatible alarm equipment (e.g., siren). Per the supplied documentation, this output can directly drive a siren.
Yellow / BlackSwitch-signal output for linkage equipment (e.g., camera input)

Installers should confirm the electrical requirements of connected detectors and output equipment before deployment, in accordance with the AS-211 wiring documentation.

5. AS-211 vs. AS-201

Athenalarm offers both the AS-201 Single-zone Address Module and the AS-211 Single-zone Address & Output Module within the AS-9000 accessory range.
