2 Key Points for Identifying the Quality of Intrusion Panel

The intrusion panel is a device that uses physical methods or electronic technology to automatically detect intrusion behavior occurring within the deployed monitoring area, generate alarm signals, and alert the on duty personnel of the area where the alarm occurred. It forms a security and prevention system together with access systems, closed-circuit television monitoring systems, visitor intercom systems, and electronic patrol systems, etc. What aspects should be taken to identify the quality of intrusion panel?

1 Components and processes

The selection of components and the quality of the process largely determine the quality of the product. However, due to the lack of professional knowledge in this area, users can only make general evaluations. This evaluation includes the following aspects.

(1) The type of component used. When the functions of the intrusion panel are basically the same, the fewer components used, the higher their integration degree, and the reliability and stability of the equipment will also be improved accordingly. If SMT components are used, their size is small, their pins are short, and their distribution parameters are small, resulting in significantly better electromagnetic compatibility than components that use wires as pins, making them increasingly widely used.

(2) Connector. The selected connectors should be securely connected, easy to operate, and less prone to malfunctions. Due to the fact that connectors are an active part that requires frequent operation, once problems arise, they can have a significant impact. Therefore, it is important to focus on the quality of such devices.

(3) Components distribution. Whether the layout of components on the printed circuit board and the arrangement of shared ground wires are reasonable depends on the design level of the printed circuit board. A well-designed circuit board is like a piece of art, with evenly distributed components and orderly and scientific arrangements, which helps to reduce external electromagnetic interference. SMT technology is used for SMT components, which can be soldered on both sides of the printed circuit board, making the component arrangement more compact, greatly reducing the wiring distance, and compressing the area of the printed circuit board.

(4) Welding. This is an important component of the production process, which directly affects the quality of the product. Require smooth solder joints, appropriate size, and no false or missed solder joints. The length left after pin cutting is appropriate.

(5) Identification. For the convenience of use and maintenance, each component must have clear drawing numbers or codes and be easy to view. According to common practice, the color of the wires should be uniform.

2 Performance and quality

For security products, the quality of the product often has a decisive significance. The evaluation of performance includes the following items.

(1) Redundancy: refers to the range of allowable changes in indicators. There are clear regulations on the main pointer range of the intrusion panel. According to different levels, there are different high and low limits. In order to adapt to harsh environments, some intrusion panels have also established higher enterprise standards. The better the redundancy, the stronger its ability to adapt to the environment.

(2) Consistency: This is an important aspect of product quality assessment. The quality of the selected components is guaranteed, with small errors and good product consistency. Otherwise, it will result in significant differences. This unpredictable difference can sometimes bring certain difficulties to use.

(3) Reliability: Among the various elements of evaluating the quality of intrusion panels, reliability undoubtedly occupies a very important position. No matter how comprehensive the functions are and how convenient the operation is, the reliability is not high and everything is unnecessary. If conditions permit, it is recommended to conduct two tests. One is the qualified rate of product unboxing, and the other is the working time without faults. The second test, as it requires a long time, is somewhat challenging for users.

(4) Safety: The main causes of damage to general electronic products are environmental changes, such as lightning strikes, moisture, overvoltage, overcurrent, and deterioration of working parameters caused by component aging. For these factors, security products should have high standards.
