Precautions for Home Burglar Alarm Equipment

1. The legality of the home burglar alarm equipment

First of all, we should pay attention to whether the home burglar alarm equipment has been approved by the relevant state department for production. The national industrial and commercial departments should have clear regulations on the business scope of security product manufacturers. Local public security organs will also issue production licenses for security products, and sales licenses for security product sales. For security products that alarm through the line, the Ministry of Information Industry will also issue a network access license for telecommunications equipment. For products that have both the above one license (business license) and three certificates (security product production license, security product sales license, and telecommunications equipment network access license), users can be included in the scope of purchase. Because the relevant state departments will verify the qualifications of the production (sales) factory/vendor in accordance with strict approval procedures in the process of issuing the above-mentioned licenses, especially requiring random sampling of the products produced by the factory/vendor in batches and submitting them to the national statutory inspection department. This process is a strict test of product quality, and only products that can pass the test can obtain the certification conditions. For imported security products, only those who pass the above-mentioned inspections can meet the basic conditions for issuing (sales, telecommunications equipment network access) licenses.

2. The basic composition of the home burglar alarm equipment

The home burglar alarm equipment is usually composed of an alarm control panel, various defense sensors, and user operating components (keypad, remote control, etc.). Functionally, it can be divided into three parts: detection part, on-site processing part and subsequent processing part.

3. Product usability

The selection of the home burglar alarm equipment should be considered in consideration of multiple factors, such as the area of the home, the characteristics of the building structure, the value of the property, the surrounding environment, etc., but there are several general reference criteria:

  • The wired method has the advantages of reliable communication, strong anti-interference ability, and low device cost. It is suitable for newly built buildings where connecting lines can be reserved in the walls; but its mobility is poor, it is inconvenient to adapt to the changing requirements of users and products, and it is difficult and expensive to maintain and replace the reserved connecting lines.
  • The wireless mode can avoid the connection line between the sensor and the alarm control panel from affecting the interior decoration, which has the advantages of flexibility and simplicity, but also has the disadvantages of being easily disturbed by various external factors and relatively high device costs.
  • A well-established means of preventing thieves from entering through the door is the use of a reed switch/magnet to detect the opening of the door. However, it should be noted that there are two different alarm trigger modes: immediate alarm and delayed alarm. The former can immediately generate an on-site alarm, which can immediately deter intruders, but if the user does not disarm before opening the door, it will generate false alarms and cause harassment to the user and neighbors. In the delayed alarm mode, a prompt alarm will be issued when the door is opened to remind users who forget to disarm to disarm in time. If the alarm control panel does not receive a disarm signal within a certain period of time, the alarm control panel will alarm again. Obviously, the latter method is more practical. Preventing a thief from entering the current general means through the window is to adopt.
  • To prevent thieves from entering through windows, the current common method is to use PIR motion sensors. The initial single detection type (using only a single thermal element) is easily affected by light, temperature and other factors, resulting in false alarms, and is more likely to be affected by mice, cats, etc. , dogs and other small animals caused by false triggering. Later, multiple types (using multiple thermal elements) were gradually developed, such as: double-type (using thermal and microwave elements), three-type (using thermal and microwave elements, and then performing calculations through single-chip microcomputers), in order to reduce the incidence of false alarms.
  • In addition to the fact that PIR motion sensors are prone to false alarms and can only be used in indoor environments, there is another problem that restricts their use in homes: the defense area of this type of detector is three-dimensional rather than flat. If there are owner activities indoors, it is impossible to carry out fully enclosed arming of the living room. The solution is to use the beam sensor, which has two types: (1) Outdoor type: It needs to be powered by an adapter and wireless transmission mode. It can form a mesh plane defense for walls, gates, and one or more windows on the same wall plane within a distance of 5~30m outdoors, and can realize True ” fully enclosed ” defense protection to buildings. (2) Indoor type: It adopts battery power supply and wireless transmission mode. It can be installed on both sides of balconies, indoor windows, doors, and aisles, and implements linear defense for a distance of 1-8m. This kind of equipment can realize real “fully enclosed” defense protection to buildings. The indoor type has more practical value because it is more convenient for DIY (customer self-installation) and can realize mobile defense.
  • The contact button is an important device to prevent robbery and realize first aid, and it should also become a necessary alarm device in the home burglar alarm. If the remote control is integrated with the emergency button, the emergency button should be prevented from being triggered by mistake.
  • The way of reporting the alarm is an important index to evaluate the performance and practicability of the alarm. The most primitive way of reporting is to use the on-site siren to warn nearby people. The more popular reporting method is that the alarm control panel can automatically dial the user’s preset alarm number, and after dialing, it can play the user’s pre-recorded voice explaining the alarm location. As a commercial housing residential area or community joint defense application, the alarm control panel is required to have a network alarm function.
  • The traditional way to realize network alarm is to use computer to receive data information from dedicated line or line. Compared with the two ways, using line to transmit data information has obvious advantages such as high line reliability, maintenance-free, and convenient expansion. However, the use of computers to receive data information from incoming lines has its disadvantages: it is difficult for ordinary PCs to undertake continuous work day and night without stopping. Moreover, the use of industrial control microcomputers has high requirements on the skills of operators, resulting in a waste of human resources; the use of industrial control microcomputers still has to face fatal flaws such as virus invasion, data loss, crashes and restarts. Through cloud operation, upload the data of each security device to the cloud server, and then connect the cloud server through the client of the ordinary PC to realize the real-time exchange of alarm information, which has become the main method to solve this problem. This method has been widely used by banks, industrial and mining enterprises, and security companies with high requirements for security and large data processing volume.
  • The distinction of alarm conditions is an important indicator for evaluating the performance of the alarm system. The alarm control panel with network alarm function should be able to distinguish alarm conditions (such as intrusion, emergency, fire, etc.) and alarm areas (doors, windows, room parts, etc.).
  • Fire prevention and flammable gas leakage prevention are also an index to evaluate the performance of the alarm system.
